At the end of her earthly life, the Blessed Virgin Mary is taken body and soul into Heavenly glory. The Mother of God, preserved from sin and perfectly united to her Son, is brought into the fullness of eternal life. "A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun." (Apocalypse/Revelation 12:1)

What does the atmosphere feel and taste like?

Does the air seem to carry the sweetness of eternal hope and victory over death?
How does the promise of Heaven awaken desire in your soul?
5. Touch
How does the stillness of the sacred moment feel upon your soul?
Can you feel the warmth of divine love surrounding Mary?
What sensation arises as Heaven and earth seem united in this mystery?
If you reached out in prayer toward Mary, how would her maternal nearness affect your heart?
6. Emotion
Interior Sense
What emotions arise as you witness Mary entering Heaven?
Hope?
Joy?
Longing?
Peace?
Do you feel encouraged knowing that Christ prepares eternal life for those who love Him?
How does Mary's Assumption encourage you in your own journey toward holiness and Heaven?

Take a slow breath and contemplate the glory of the Mother of God entering the eternal presence of the Blessed Trinity. See the joy of Heaven welcoming the humble handmaid who said "yes" to God completely. Mary's Assumption is a sign of hope: body and soul are made for glory in Christ.
