Ask With Trust
Thursday of the Fifth Week of Easter
Petition is not a lesser prayer. It is the soul learning to depend on the Father with the simplicity of a child.
Daily Oratory provides Scripture references and original reflections. It does not republish copyrighted readings.
The Christian does not outgrow asking. The more deeply we know the Father, the more honestly we bring need, weakness, longing, and confusion into prayer.
Asking purifies desire. Some petitions reveal what we love, what we fear, and where trust still needs to be healed.
Bring one need to the Lord today without bargaining. Let the prayer be simple, direct, and trusting.
Reflection questions
- What need have I avoided bringing to prayer?
- Where is Christ inviting me to ask with childlike trust?
- How might my petition become more open to the Father's will?
Prayer
Father, teach me to ask without fear and to receive Your will with trust. Let my prayer become a place of communion.
